The Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning is interested in collaborating with faculty in the development of a research effort to investigate diversity and inclusion in the college classroom, including how classroom dynamics and interactions among students of diverse backgrounds affect faculty and student experiences. We have intentionally written the scope of this research in very broad terms; we are very happy to discuss any ideas or questions you may have.
We invite faculty who wish to use this research as part of their scholarly efforts and who are interested in working with student research assistants. We welcome interest from faculty in any discipline.
This research effort will likely occur over at least two semesters. Faculty collaborators who participate fully will receive a $2,500 Professional Development Incentive and will be eligible to receive an $850 Timme Travel Grant to present this work at a conference or symposium. Student research assistants will receive a stipend and travel support to co-present this work.
If you are interested in being a collaborator, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org by January 24, 2014. We seek multiple collaborators. If you have any questions, please contact Julie Rowan or Todd Stanislav by calling 231.591.3826.
