Basics (Phase 1)

This workshop is required for all faculty who wish to use the learning management system (FerrisConnect) as a teaching tool. You can expect to learn how to navigate through the new look of FerrisConnect. It will cover the basic course tools such as: Announcements, Syllabus, Learning Modules, Calendar, Contacts, Email, and Messages. It will also explore the Grade Center, adding a course syllabus, and how to customize settings.

Faculty teaching face-to-face courses must complete FerrisConnect Basic training in order to request FerrisConnect course shells.

Collaboration Tools (Phase 2)

Friday, May 10 from 1 - 4 PM in FLITE 108
Monday, August 5 from 1 - 4 PM in FLITE 108

This workshop is required for faculty who teach a blended or fully online course. It highlights some of the FerrisConnect collaboration tools that have the potential to enhance student learning. Participants will learn how to use groups, discussion boards, journals, blogs, wikis, and other collaboration tools. Participants will also learn how to create and use rubrics to grade collaboration assignments.

Faculty teaching web-enhanced or online courses must complete both FerrisConnect Basic training AND FerrisConnect Collaboration Tools in order to request FerrisConnect course shells.
