Dress Code
The first impression students have of instructors is their appearance.
While there is not a University dress code, it is a good idea to think
about it carefully. Casual clothing emphasizes accessibility to
students, while more formal clothing emphasizes professionalism. If new
instructors lack confidence about their ability to command the attention
of the class, professional dress may provide an ego boost. Many
teachers start with more formal dress and go to more informal clothing
as the term progresses.
