The Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning is available to support faculty and to influence measurable effectiveness in teaching, advance scholarly activities, and promote innovation in teaching and learning. We offer services in instructional design, instructional technology, small group instructional diagnosis, as well as one-on-one expert assistance. The Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning also hosts a number of events, such as book discussion groups, learning communities, instructional technology learning activities, instructional design workshops and other faculty enrichment events.

What is the Course Design Institute?
FCTL’s summer Course Design Institute (CDI) is a four-day, hands-on, interactive, and collaborative institute. The CDI will give you a focused, engaging and collegial environment, in which you will learn about course design, teaching and learning that you can apply directly to one of your courses.
The CDI will be based largely on Dee Fink’s book, Creating Significant Learning Experiences (2013). CDI Topics will include:
