The Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning is available to support faculty and to influence measurable effectiveness in teaching, advance scholarly activities, and promote innovation in teaching and learning. We offer services in instructional design, instructional technology, small group instructional diagnosis, as well as one-on-one expert assistance. The Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning also hosts a number of events, such as book discussion groups, learning communities, instructional technology learning activities, instructional design workshops and other faculty enrichment events.
FCTL Wants You
The Faculty-in-Residence Initiative will support the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning's (FCTL) mission to "support Ferris faculty and the greater educational community in their efforts to affect deep and positive learning." The initiative will enable Ferris faculty to devote significant time and energy to work that is of mutual interest and benefit to the faculty member, FCTL, and the larger Ferris and educational communities.
The primary responsibility of the Faculty-in-Residence is to contribute to one or more of the existing FCTL areas of work. These areas of work include (in no order of preference or priority):
We seek a tenured or tenure-track faculty member or Adjunct Instructor Level 2 or 3 who possesses a deep commitment to and demonstrated success in effective teaching to serve as Faculty-in-Residence for up to three years. The Faculty-in-Residence must also have a strong desire to enhance the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning's (FCTL) work in one or more specific areas of focus (see Areas of Focus in the document titled “About the Faculty-in-Residence Program”). The Faculty-in-Residence Program also affords the Faculty-in-Residence the opportunity to develop and complete a project of relevance to the Faculty-in-Residence her- or himself, the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning, and Ferris State University.
