The Plastics processing laboratory at Ferris is one of the best equipped in the country. Students run the same equipment that is widely used in today's plastics industry. The 'hands-on' nature of the program prepares Ferris' plastics graduates to make an immediate contribution in industry.
A wide variety of processing equipment is represented including injection molding, blow molding, compression molding, thermoforming, sheet extrusion, profile extrusion, blown film extrusion. Students also use auxiliary equipment such as dryers, granulators, vacuum loaders, temperature controllers, chillers, and cavity pressure monitoring systems.
