Hans Hess - Surveying Supporter

HONORARY DOCTORATE OF BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY

 

Hans Hess has had a long record of service to the University and to his profession.

Mr. Hess has demonstrated his dedication to his field beginning in 1981 as a research and development engineer at Sulzer Brothers, continuing later as production manager and business unit manager with Huber & Suhner, and in 1989 joining the Leica Group, where he currently serves as president, chief executive officer and managing director of the Board of Leica Geosystems Holding AG.

He has generously supported Ferris State University through equipment donations to the Surveying Engineering program, providing free seminars to Ferris State students and faculty on electronic surveying equipment use. To keep Ferris State University's Surveying Engineering program a national leader, Mr. Hess plans to collaborate in future endeavors.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to Ferris State University, the Board of Trustees of Ferris State University offers its sincere gratitude and takes great pride in conferring upon Hans Hess the honorary degree of Doctor of Business and Industry, with all rights and privileges thereunto appertaining.
